Stourbridge rider Luke Quigley bounced back from a high speed fall to claim a hard fought second place at the third round of the British Superbike Cup, at Brands Hatch.

Quigley had been running second in the first race before being taken out at Paddock Hill bend. After his number one bike was rendered useless, his PDM Racing team had a race against time to get his number two bike set up for the second outing. Quigley put the crash behind him and only narrowly missed out on his first win of the season.

Race one saw a five-way battle for second position which lasted nearly the whole race before, with a couple of laps remaining, three of them fell. The first of which was Quigley, who was sent crashing out while defending his second position.

In race two, the Stourbridge speedster battled with cup leader, John Laverty, for the victory. After leading for several laps, Quigley dropped back to second, where he remained.

Quigley has climbed to fourth place in the overall standings, and now looks forward to his next outing at Donington Park later this month.
