A leading wire producer will attend Wire 2024 after being bolstered by one of its biggest ever export orders.

Dudley-based Alloy Wire International (AWI) recently secured a $400,000 contract with a US springmaker to supply a nickel cobalt alloy.

The high strength material is set to be used in an aerospace application requiring heat and corrosion resistance.

AWI's quick processing saw the large order completed in just a few short weeks, embodying the qualities that the company will highlight at Wire 2024 in Dusseldorf from Monday 15 to Friday, April 19.

These include world-class quality, swift order processing, and a 400-tonne stockholding.

AWI managing director Tom Mander said: "Wire 2024 is the biggest global show in our sector, so it is great news that we are heading there after winning such a sizeable export order.

The company is spearheading growth across several sectors, including automotive (up six per cent), aerospace (up three per cent), and a re-energised oil and gas marketplace (up 10 per cent).

There also remain untapped potential opportunities in space, medical and nuclear sectors.

Currently, 55 per cent of AWI’s £17.9 million sales are from exports.

From its factories in West Midlands and Yorkshire, AWI supplies 6,000 customers across 15 different sectors in 50 countries, delivering orders within three weeks of being placed.
